We connect women across South African academies — from Cape Town to Joburg to Durban. A WhatsApp network, monthly meet-ups and a national directory of female training partners.
Programs
Six programs, one mission: make BJJ in South Africa a place where every woman thrives.
We connect women across South African academies — from Cape Town to Joburg to Durban. A WhatsApp network, monthly meet-ups and a national directory of female training partners.
Whether you're a white belt nervous about your first class or a brown belt prepping for ADCC trials, SAGIG provides tailored guidance, drilling partners and instructor referrals.
Monthly women-only open mats, training days and social events. Lower the barrier to entry, raise the floor of technique.
World-class technical seminars from local and international female black belts. Past guests include Penny Thomas, Peyton Letcher and Nika Schwinden.
Pair newer women with experienced training partners and mentors. The first six months in BJJ are the hardest — no one should walk through them alone.
We support women through their first competitions — from the SAJJF Provincial Open to ADCC trials and beyond.
SAGIG started in the gi, but grappling doesn't end at the lapel. She Rolls is our no-gi division — built for the women drilling leg locks, chasing ADCC trials, competing at Grappling Industries, or simply preferring rashguards to a kimono.
Same community, same standards, same commitment to safety and inclusivity — just without the gi. Whether you train both or live exclusively in no-gi, you belong here. We welcome women of every belt, every body type, every background, and every academy across South Africa.
Grappling Industries, ADCC trials, Submission Kings and local opens.
From first-day white belts to seasoned competitors — every woman is welcome.
Technique breakdowns, comp prep and stories from women on the no-gi circuit.
She Rolls isn't a separate club — it's SAGIG, in a rashguard.
